Why do Heat spikes occur during curing?Updated 10 months ago

Gels contain photo-initiators that, upon activation by LED/UV light, can generate heat. The amount of gel applied correlates with the quantity of photo-initiators present, potentially leading to a heightened heat spike. To mitigate this effect, consider the following tips when using our Extend Gel(s):

  • Avoid keeping your light stationary; instead, move your flash cure light in a sweeping motion to disperse the heat.
  • Refrain from holding the flash cure light too close to the nail; maintaining a greater distance will diminish the light's intensity.
  • Explore the features of our Alpha Lamp, which boasts a 45-second gradual upswing setting, commencing with lower intensity to prevent intense heat spikes. Likewise, our Beta Lamp offers a 60-second gradual upswing setting, enhancing user comfort and safety during gel application.
